HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the unseen, thus, he sees (all things)? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
