WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 left and right, in numerous groups? 37 Does every man of them desire that he should be made to enter the garden of bliss? 38 Nay, verily. We created them from what they know. 39 I swear by the Lord of the easts and the wests that We have the power 40 To bring better people than they in their place; and they will not be able to thwart Us. 41 Wherefore let thou them alone plunging in vanity and sporting until they meet their Day which they are promised. 42 A day when they will come out of the graves in haste, as if rushing towards their goals. 43 with downcast eyes, with ignominy overwhelming them: that Day which they were promised again and again 44
