I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 by the retreating night, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 we fed not the needy, 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
