Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
