He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 to him thou attendest 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 And he fears, 9 You neglect. 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 On honoured leaves 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 And produce therein corn, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 his wife and his sons: 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces on that day will be radiant, 38 laughing and joyful, 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
