The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 Who are humble in their service, 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 who give charity, 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 to their promise, 9 Those are the heirs 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 NOW, INDEED, We create man out of the essence of clay, 12 Then made him a drop of fluid in a secure shelter. 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
