And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 And We have placed therein gardens of the date-palm and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands did not make it; will they not then be grateful? 35 Holy is He who created all things in pairs; of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and other things which they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night, We withdraw therefrom the day, and behold, they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs its course for its final destination; this is a command of the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 And the moon -- We have determined it by stations, till it returns like an aged palm-bough. 39 It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming. 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 and We have created for them the like of it whereon they ride; 42 and if We will, We drown them, then none have they to cry to, neither are they delivered, 43 save as a mercy from Us, and enjoyment for a while. 44 When it is said to them: "Beware of what is before you and what is past, that you may be treated with kindness;" 45 Yet there never comes to them any sign of their Lord's signs, but they turn away from it. 46 When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error. 47 They also say: 'When will this promise be, if what you say is true' 48 They will not (have to) wait for aught but a single Blast: it will seize them while they are yet disputing among themselves! 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
