Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, 1 ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. 4 ‘Whereas we thought that men and jinns would never fabricate a lie against Allah!’ 5 And indeed (O Muhammad) individuals of humankind used to invoke the protection of individuals of the jinn, so that they increased them in revolt against Allah); 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. 8 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him. 9 We do not know whether by this arrangement God intends benefit and guidance for the people of the earth or only evil. 10 Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. 13 And there are among us some who have surrendered (to Allah) and there are among us some who are unjust. And whoso hath surrendered to Allah, such have taken the right path purposefully. 14 And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell, 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 Mosques belong to Allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than Allah. 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
