The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
