The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
