And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?' 11 : He said: "O Lord, I fear that they will deny me. 12 I feel nervous and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron with me. 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 "So allow the Children of Israel to go with us.' " 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." 19 He said: I did it then when I was mistaken. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 That is a blessing thou reproachest me with, having enslaved the Children of Israel.' 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you can believe." 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand. 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 He said: even though I bring unto thee something manifest? 30 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Bring it forth then, if you are of the truthful!" 31 So he cast his staff, and behold, it was a serpent manifest. 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
