The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and brightening morning, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
