And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend on every lying, wicked person, 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
