3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
