Hizb 46
< random >
And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 and we glorify God". 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
