(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
