The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 and the brooding night! 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 And presently thy Lord shall give unto thee so that thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find you a wanderer so He guided you? 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 Therefor the beggar drive not away, 10 and as for thy Lord's blessing, declare it. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
