VERILY, God does not forgive the ascribing of divinity to aught beside Him, although He forgives any lesser sin unto whomever He wills: for those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God have indeed gone far astray. 116 They call upon instead of Him none but female [deities], and they [actually] call upon none but a rebellious Satan. 117 The one whom Allah has cursed; and the devil said, “I swear, I will certainly take an appointed portion of Your bondmen,” – 118 and shall lead them astray, and fill them with vain desires; and I shall command them - and they will cut off the ears of cattle [in idolatrous sacrifice]; and I shall command them - and they will corrupt God's creation!" But all who take Satan rather than God for their master do indeed, most clearly, lose all: 119 he holds out promises to them, and fills them with vain desires: yet whatever Satan promises them is but meant to delude the mind. 120 They (his dupes) will have their dwelling in Hell, and from it they will find no way of escape. 121 But those who believe and do good deeds We shall admit into gardens with streams of running water where they will abide for ever. True is the promise of God; and whose word could be truer than God's? 122 It is not your desires, nor the desires of the People of the Book, that shall prevail. Anyone who commits evil will be rewarded accordingly. He will not find any protector or patron for himself besides God. 123 And whosoever does deeds of righteousness, be it male or female, believing - they shall enter Paradise, and not be wronged a single date-spot. 124 And who has a better religion than he who submits himself entirely to Allah? And he is the doer of good (to others) and follows the faith of Ibrahim, the upright one, and Allah took Ibrahim as a friend. 125 Whatever is in the heavens and in the earth belongs to Allah; Allah encompasses everything. 126
