We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape; 26 And created the jinn before him, from smokeless fire. 27 When your Lord said to the angels: 'See, I am creating a mortal from clay of molded mud. 28 When I have completed shaping him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall you down before him in prostration." 29 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together 30 But Satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves. 31 God asked Iblis, "What made you not join the others in prostration?" 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 He answered: 'You are among those reprieved 37 "Till the Day of the Time appointed." 38 [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all 39 Save such of them as are Thy perfectly devoted slaves. 40 God said, "This is the path which leads straight to Me. 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44
