'Lord, open my breast,' said Moses, 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 and my tongue fluent 27 (That) they may understand my word; 28 "And appoint for me a helper from my family, 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 Add Thou through him to my strength, 31 "And make him share my task: 32 So shall we glorify Thee, 33 and remember you often. 34 Surely Thou seest into us.' 35 Allah said: "You are granted your request, O Musa (Moses)! 36 “And indeed We had bestowed upon you a favour one more time.” 37 when We revealed Our will to your mother, saying, 38 “That, ‘Put him into a chest and cast it into the river, so the river shall deposit it on to a shore – therefore one who is an enemy to Me and you, shall pick him up’; and I bestowed upon you love from Myself; and for you to be brought up in My sight.” 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 go therefore, thou and thy brother; with My signs, and neglect not to remember Me. 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 And speak unto him a gentle word, that peradventure he may heed or fear. 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything). 46 "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 ‘It has indeed been revealed to us that the punishment is upon the one who denies and turns away.’” 48 [But when God's message was conveyed unto Pharaoh,] he said: "Who, now, is this Sustainer of you two, O Moses?" 49 Moses replied, "Our Lord is He who has given everything its form, then guided it." 50 He said: then what happened to the former generations? 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 Eat and pasture your cattle, (therein); verily, in this are proofs and signs for men of understanding. 54
