Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, 2 providing guidance and grace unto the doers of good 3 who are constant in prayer and dispense charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! 4 These are on a guidance from their Lord, and these are they who are successful: 5 (In an attempt to show that God's revelations are only ancient legends) some people pay for meaningless tales to draw others attention away from the Quran without knowledge and treat as a matter of fun. They will suffer a humiliating torment. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in pride as if he heard them not, as if there were a deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful doom. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens of Delight. 8 Therein they will be abiders: a true promise of Allah. And He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 This is the creation of Allah. So show Me that which those (whom you worship), besides Him have created. Nay, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allah) are in plain error. 11
