۞ Say thou: my bondmen who have committed extravagance against themselves despair not of the mercy of Allah; verily Allah will forgive the sins altogether. Verily He! He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. 53 Hence, turn towards your Sustainer [alone] and surrender yourselves unto Him ere the suffering [of death and resurrection] comes upon you, for then you will not be succoured. 54 Follow the best of what has been revealed to you by your Lord before the punishment overtakes you suddenly and you are caught unawares, 55 Lest a soul should say: O woe to me! for what I fell short of my duty to Allah, and most surely I was of those who laughed to scorn; 56 "Or (lest) it should say: 'If only Allah had guided me, I should certainly have been among the righteous!'- 57 or lest he should say, when he becomes aware of the suffering [that awaits him,] "Would that I had a second chance [in life,] so that I could be among the doers of good!" 58 God will reply to the soul, "My revelations had certainly come to you but you rejected them. You were puffed-up with pride and you became an unbeliever". 59 On the Day of Resurrection, you shall see those who lied about Allah with blackened faces. In Gehenna is there not a lodging for those who were proud? 60 But, Allah will save those who fear Him with their winnings (Paradise). No evil shall touch them, nor shall they ever grieve. 61 God is the Creator of all things, He has charge of everything; 62 He has the keys of the heavens and the earth; and those who deny the revelations of God will be losers. 63
