Nay, by the Moon 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning unto humankind 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
