The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 then he mustered 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
