The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
