The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 That accursed are the men of the trench 4 The people of the fuelled blazing fire. 5 When they sat by it 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
