Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others, 1 then raise sparks of fire (by their hoofs), 2 And scouring to the raid at dawn 3 and raising clouds of dust, 4 Penetrating forthwith as one into the midst (of the foe); 5 Indeed man is very ungrateful towards his Lord. 6 and surely he is a witness against that! 7 And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent. 8 ۞ Does he not know,- when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad 9 and all that is [hidden] in men's hearts is bared 10 Surely, on that Day, they will know that their Lord had full knowledge of them all. 11
