Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
