The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
