۞ When the example of Mary's son is quoted before them, your people cry out at it, 57 and said: “Who is better, our deities or he?” They said so only out of contentiousness. They are a disputatious people. 58 He (Prophet Jesus) was only a worshiper whom We favored and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 And if We willed, We could have established angels on the earth instead of you. 60 And lo! verily there is knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path. 61 Let not the Evil One hinder you: for he is to you an enemy avowed. 62 When Jesus came with clear signs, he said, "Now I have come to you with wisdom, in order to make clear to you some of the things about which you dispute: therefore fear God and obey me. 63 God is your Lord and my Lord, so worship Him. This is the right path". 64 The various factions among them differed -- woe then to those who did wrong: they will suffer the punishment of a painful Day. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour that it shall come upon them suddenly, while they perceive not? 66 Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 67
