Smoke (Al-Dukhaan)
59 verses, revealed in Mecca after Vanity (Al-Zukhruf) before Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 By the luminious Book. 2 (That) We sent it down one night of blessing -- so that We could warn -- 3 In it every wise matter is determined 4 Amran (i.e. a Command or this Quran or the Decree of every matter) from Us. Verily, We are ever sending (the Messengers), 5 A mercy from thy Lord. Lo! He, even He is the Hearer, the Knower, 6 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you really do believe. 7 There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death. [He is] your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers. 8 Yet they play about in doubt. 9 Therefore keep waiting for the day when the heaven shall bring an evident smoke, 10 which will smother the people. They will say, "This is a painful torment. 11 Thereupon they will say, “O our Lord! Remove the punishment from us we now accept faith.” 12 But how will they take heed? Such are they that a Messenger came to them clearly expounding the Truth, 13 But they turned away from him, and said: "He is well-instructed, (but) possessed." 14 Indeed, We will remove the torment for a little. Indeed, you [disbelievers] will return [to disbelief]. 15 However, We shall truly take Our revenge on the day when the great seizure takes place. 16 ۞ We had certainly tested the people of the Pharaoh before them to whom a noble Messengers had come, saying, 17 Saying: Give up to me the slaves of Allah. Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you. 18 And that do not exalt yourselves against Allah, surely I will bring to you a clear authority: 19 And surely I take refuge with my Lord and your Lord that you should stone me to death: 20 And if you do not believe me, then leave me' 21 And [finally] he called to his Lord that these were a criminal people. 22 Then (his Lord commanded): Take away My slaves by night. Lo! ye will be followed, 23 And leave the sea behind you as calm as ever. Surely they are an army that is doomed to be drowned.” 24 They left how many gardens and fountains, 25 And cornfields and noble places! 26 And pleasant things wherein they took delight! 27 Such was their end, and what had been theirs We gave to other people to inherit. 28 So the heaven and the earth did not weep for them, nor were they respited. 29

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
