Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad SAW and the Quran). 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
