Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The emulous desire of abundance engrosseth you, 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 But no, indeed, you shall soon know. 3 Nay! Nay! you shall soon know. 4 You will certainly have the knowledge of your deeds beyond all doubt. 5 For ye will behold hell-fire. 6 Again, indeed you will see it with certainty. 7 Then on that Day you shall be questioned about your worldly favours. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
