Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel peace be upon him.) 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, 205 And then the promise that is given to them, does come upon them- 206 of what avail would their past enjoyment be to them? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 who sees you when you stand 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
