Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
