The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise and warn! 2 and magnify the glory of your Lord, 3 And your garments purify! 4 And stay away from idols. 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 So that is a tough day. 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 and whom I have granted abundant wealth 12 And sons dwelling in his presence, 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 After all that he desires that I should give more; 15 Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. 16 [and so] I shall constrain him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 He planned and plotted. 18 And woe to him! How he plotted!- 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 Then looked he, 21 frowned and scowled; 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 'this is nothing but mortal speech.' 25 Him shall I fling unto the burning. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 over it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
