Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
