The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
