The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
