The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 And the promised day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord. 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
