And they ask thee regarding the spirit; say thou: the spirit is by the command of my Lord, and ye have not been vouchsafed of knowledge save a little. 85 If We willed, We could take away that We have revealed to thee, then thou wouldst find none thereover to guard thee against Us, 86 except for Mercy from your Lord; for His favor to you is great indeed. 87 Say: "If the mankind and the jinns were together to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another." 88 And verily We have displayed for mankind in this Qur'an all kind of similitudes, but most of mankind refuse aught save disbelief. 89 They said: "We shall not accept your Message until you cause a spring to gush forth for us from the earth; 90 "Or you have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and cause rivers to gush forth in their midst abundantly; 91 Or thou causest the heaven to fall upon us, as thou assertest, in pieces, or thou bringest God and the angels face to face. 92 or, until you possess an ornate house of gold, or ascend into the heavens; and we will not believe in your ascension until you have brought down for us a book which we can read' Say: 'Exaltations to my Lord! Am I anything except a human Messenger' 93
