The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 who observe Zakah; 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 Then made him a drop of fluid in a secure shelter. 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
