(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
