The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
