Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 but you should know that there are angelic guards 10 Illustrious scribes 11 Who know what you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. 19
