The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
