Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say thou: it hath been revealed unto me that a company of the jinn listened, and said, verily we have listened to a Recitation wondrous. 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And He - exalted be the majesty of our Lord! hath taken neither a spouse nor a son. 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 we never thought that either human or jinn would ever tell a lie against Allah!' 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 "We went near the heavens but found it to be full of strong guards and shooting flames. 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 ‘And among us some are virtuous and some are the other type; we are split into several branches.’ 11 We know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the guidance, we believed in it; and whosoever believes in his Lord, he shall fear neither paltriness nor vileness. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 Would they but go straight on the way, We would give them to drink of water copious, 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 And when the slave of Allah stood up in prayer to Him, they crowded on him, almost stifling. 19
