By the moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 A warning to mankind, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 About the criminals, 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
