The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
