Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
